Elena Slipcover Sofa (Made to order fabrics)

The Elena sofa is the slipcovered piece in an outdoor room, an 81 inch frame with a removable, washable cover that can come off at the end of a season and go back on clean. At 40 inches tall it carries more back height than most outdoor sofas, which is what gives it the softer, more residential presence the collection is known for.

Design and Construction

Each Elena frame interlocks and is engineered from multiple layers of premium outdoor Baltic birch plywood, made in the USA and coated in an outdoor finishing material, with stainless steel hardware at every construction point. The distinguishing feature is the slipcover: it is removable, serged on all seams so the edges do not fray, and can be machine washed and line dried. Cast aluminum legs raise the sofa off the deck. It is a construction that treats outdoor upholstery the way indoor upholstery is treated, with the expectation that covers get cleaned rather than replaced.

Comfort and Seating

The seat measures 71 inches across and 21 inches deep at a 20 inch height, with arms at 24 inches. Three adults sit comfortably. The 20 inch seat height and moderate cushion depth put you in a relaxed but upright posture, easy to get in and out of, and the tall 40 inch back gives shoulder support rather than stopping at the mid-back the way lower outdoor sofas do. The slipcovered surfaces have a soft hand that reads more like a family room sofa than patio seating.

Fabric and Finish Options

The removable slipcover is made up in any fabric from the full Lane Venture performance collection. Solution dyed yarn carries color through the fiber, so a cover that comes off for washing goes back on the cast aluminum legged frame looking like itself.
